Ogun State unveils logo, theme song, and mascot ‘Omo Ogun’ for the 22nd National Sports Festival set to begin May 16.

The 22nd National Sports Festival is just around the corner, and Ogun State is already creating a buzz with the official reveal of its logo, theme song, and mascot for the much-anticipated Gateway Games.

The vibrant unveiling ceremony took place at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, with Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele standing in for Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The event marked the official launch of the festival’s branding materials, which will help set the tone for the competition set to begin on May 16.

The festival logo, displayed in lemon green and yellow, reflects the official colors of Ogun State. It symbolizes unity, energy, and the rich cultural heritage of the host state.

Following the logo reveal, the official theme song titled “E’Kaabo”, which means “Welcome” in Yoruba was introduced. Composed by Dr. Bayo Adepetun, the song sets a vibrant and hospitable tone as Ogun prepares to welcome athletes, officials, and visitors from across the country.

Meet ‘Omo Ogun’: The Heart of the Festival

The ceremony’s highlight was the unveiling of the festival mascot, named ‘Omo Ogun’. The animated figure brought excitement to the crowd as it made its entrance, saluted the audience, and personally greeted VIPs in attendance.
