Radio Rush: Mighty George aims for Guinness World record in 100-hour broadcast marathon

Ace broadcaster and media powerhouse George Iniabasi Essien, aka Mighty George, is going full throttle in an audacious attempt to smash a Guinness World Record with a 100-hour non-stop radio talk show marathon.

The record-breaking broadcast kicks off midnight, Sunday, April 27, live on Comfort 95.1FM Uyo, and will run straight through to Thursday, May 1.

That’s four days of non-stop energy, inspiration, and raw broadcasting brilliance all powered by one man and a mic.

“This isn’t just about a number,” George said at a press conference in Uyo. “It’s about proving that greatness can rise from anywhere even from right here in Akwa Ibom.

I’m not just doing this for me; I’m doing it for the culture, for radio, and for every dreamer watching.”

The current record of 88 hours, held by Japan’s Taishi Masuoka, is officially under threat.

But Mighty George isn’t stopping there he’s inviting Governor Umo Eno to make a live appearance, hinting he might go even longer if the Governor shows up.

it’s a full-blown festival,the Comfort FM grounds will host music, comedy, celebrity appearances, and a nonstop party vibe to keep the energy sky-high.

George a sports journalist who has covered multiple sporting events worldwide will mark 20 years in broadcasting.
