Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman continued his stellar season with a well-taken goal as Atalanta cruised to a dominant 4-0 win over relegated Monza in Serie A.

Fresh off a 1-1 draw against Lecce, Atalanta returned to winning ways in style, they now sit third in Serie A with 68 points from 35 matches, needing just two more wins from their final three fixtures to clinch a UEFA Champions League berth.

Manager Gian Piero Gasperini started Lookman in attack alongside Charles De Ketelaere and Mateo Retegui. Atalanta controlled the match early, and De Ketelaere quickly put the game beyond Monza’s reach with two goals in the 12th and 23rd minutes.

Lookman was involved in the build-up to the second, attempting a quick give-and-go before the ball deflected to De Ketelaere, who made no mistake from close range.

Though Lookman had a relatively quiet first half, managing just one off-target shot, he announced himself just two minutes into the second half.

Retegui flicked a header into space, and Lookman used his pace to beat a Monza defender, driving into the box and slotting home from a tight angle to make it 3-0.
