All eyes on Ikenne as NWFL Super six Kicks off

The NWFL has released full fixtures for the 2025 Super Six playoffs in Ikenne, where six top teams will battle for the league title.

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has unveiled the full schedule for the 2025 Super Six playoffs, setting the stage for a week of intense competition at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Running from 10 to 17 May, six of the country’s top teams will vie for the league title and a coveted spot in continental competition.

The tournament kicks off today with three key fixtures. Naija Ratels take on Nasarawa Amazons in the morning encounter, followed by a showdown between Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels.

The final match of the day will see defending champions Edo Queens face hosts Remo Stars Ladies in what is expected to be a closely contested clash.

After a rest day on 11 May, action resumes on the 12th as Nasarawa Amazons meet Bayelsa Queens in the early kick-off. Remo Stars Ladies will go head-to-head with Naija Ratels shortly after, before Rivers Angels round off the day against Edo Queens.

Matchday Three on 13 May sees Naija Ratels face Edo Queens, while Nasarawa Amazons and Rivers Angels renew their rivalry. Bayelsa Queens and Remo Stars Ladies will close proceedings, as the race for the top tightens.

Following another break on 14 May, Matchday Four returns on 15 May with a crucial tie between Edo Queens and Bayelsa Queens. Rivers Angels will then play Naija Ratels, before Remo Stars Ladies take on Nasarawa Amazons in the final fixture of the day.

The tournament concludes on 17 May, with what could prove to be a decisive set of fixtures. Nasarawa Amazons play Edo Queens, Remo Stars Ladies face Rivers Angels, and Bayelsa Queens go up against Naija Ratels.

Edo Queens, who made history last season by winning their first-ever NWFL Premiership title, will be aiming to defend their crown.

However, stiff competition from seasoned sides like Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens ensures that the battle for supremacy will be fierce.
