Bayern Munich kicked off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, dismantling New Zealand champions Auckland City 10-0 to register the biggest win in the tournament’s history.
Vincent Kompany’s side were ruthless from the first whistle, with Kingsley Coman heading home in the 6th minute to start what became a record-breaking demolition at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.
Just 12 minutes later, Sacha Boey made it 2-0 with a fierce half-volley after Coman’s knockdown, and Michael Olise added a third in the 24th minute, arriving at the back post to convert Thomas Muller’s cross.
Barely a minute later, Coman struck again — this time with a driven left-footed effort that made it 4-0. Muller got on the scoresheet himself just after the half-hour mark, neatly finishing another Olise delivery to make it five.

After a quieter start to the second half, Jamal Musiala, returning from injury, entered the fray and immediately made an impact. The 21-year-old found the bottom corner with a curled finish to make it 7-0.
He soon added his second from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box, then completed his hat-trick by capitalizing on a loose ball deep in Auckland territory — making it 9-0.

With two minutes remaining, Muller scored his second of the match and Bayern’s tenth, converting Serge Gnabry’s cross to round off a night of complete domination.

The result shattered the previous Club World Cup record — Al Hilal’s 6-1 victory over Al Jazira in 2022 — and sent a clear message to the rest of the field.
The game also marked a poignant milestone for Thomas Muller, who is set to leave Bayern this summer after more than 15 years at the club. The 34-year-old showed no signs of slowing down, grabbing two goals and two assists in a vintage performance.
