Rivers Angels have been awarded a ₦50 million cash prize by the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), following their thrilling Federation Cup final win on Saturday.
The Port Harcourt-based side came from two goals down to draw 2-2 in regulation time before defeating Nasarawa Amazons 4-2 on penalties at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The victory marks a record-extending 10th title for Rivers Angels in the competition’s history.
Nasarawa Amazons looked set to spring an upset when Aminat Olushola Shobowale struck twice early in the first half, first in the 7th minute and again in the 17th—to hand the Lafia-based team a commanding lead.
