“It’s all about the team” – Onuachu reflects after brace against Konyaspor

Super Eagles striker Onuachu leads Nigerian trio to victory as Trabzonspor edge Kocaelispor in opening Turkish Super Lig clash.

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu insists team success is more important than individual accolades, following his brace in Trabzonspor’s 3-1 win over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Onuachu opened the scoring from the penalty spot after his side fell behind early and later converted a second goal from an assist by Mustafa Eskihellac. Ernest Muci added the third to seal the victory.

The brace moved Onuachu to the top of the Super Lig scoring charts with 11 goals, one ahead of Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir.

“It feels good (to score 11 goals). But the most important thing is to win,” Onuachu told Super Haber.

“We started the match a little slowly. We woke up after conceding the goal. The team showed a good fight today. After conceding, we put our own game on display.

“This team has shown that it can achieve great things. I am very happy for the team. We are a family team. When my friends I play with score a goal, I am as happy as if it was my own. The whole team is doing a good job.
