Super Eagles striker Akor Adams scored twice late on as Sevilla staged a dramatic comeback to draw 2-2 away at Elche in La Liga on monday night.
The Nigerian forward, introduced from the bench, ended Sevilla’s goal drought and salvaged a point after the visitors trailed by two goals deep into the second half at the Estadio Martínez Valero.
Elche, seeking to recover from a dip in form despite a strong home record this season, made a confident start and were rewarded inside the opening quarter-hour.
Aleix Febas finished calmly into the near corner after being picked out on the edge of the area, catching Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos slightly off his line.

Sevilla responded with increased urgency before the break and went close on several occasions, striking the woodwork and forcing a pair of fine saves, but their inability to convert chances summed up a difficult recent run.
The home side extended their lead shortly after half-time when Sevilla failed to clear a corner, allowing Germán Valera space to guide a low effort into the bottom corner from distance.

Despite the setback, Sevilla continued to press and were finally rewarded 15 minutes from time. Adams reacted quickest in the six-yard box to tap in after an initial effort came back off the post, ending the visitors’ five-match competitive scoring drought.

Elche attempted to slow the game down as stoppage time approached, but a handball decision swung the momentum decisively. Adams stepped up and confidently dispatched the resulting penalty into the top corner to complete his brace and secure a point.
