Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has begun a new chapter in his career after completing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Wehda.
The 30-year-old joins the Saudi club on a two-year contract as a free agent following his departure from Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia.
Olayinka confirmed the move on Thursday with a message signalling his determination to make the most of the opportunity.
“New chapter. Same hunger, same passion, bigger goals. Ready for the journey ahead,” he wrote.
The move to Saudi Arabia represents another stage in a European career that has taken Olayinka through several leagues, including Czechia, Serbia, Cyprus and Belgium.

Olayinka enjoyed the most successful period of his club career at Slavia Prague, where he established himself as an important part of a side that dominated Czech football.
During his time with the club, he won three Czech First League titles and three Czech Cups.
He later continued his trophy-winning run in Serbia with Red Star Belgrade, where he collected two domestic doubles.
His most recent spell came at APOEL, although his time in Cyprus produced limited league numbers, with the forward making 14 appearances and scoring twice.
Following Ighalo’s path in saudi pro league
Olayinka will now look to make his mark in the Saudi Pro League, where he will also find a familiar Nigerian connection.
Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo previously represented Al Wehda between 2023 and 2025, scoring 21 goals in 63 appearances for the club.
