Kazie Enyinnaya said he felt “so happy” after scoring his first South African Premier Division goal in Stellenbosch FC’s 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United.
The 26-year-old defender opened the scoring with a stunning solo effort in the 24th minute at Athlone Stadium, setting his side on course for all three points.
Speaking after to Athletic NG Enyinnaya reflected on a long-awaited breakthrough.
“I feel so happy scoring my first PSL goal today. It has been a day I’ve been patiently waiting for. Thank God, I got it today.”
The former Rivers United player, who joined Stellenbosch in 2024, insisted he never felt under pressure despite the wait for his first goal.
“No, I was relaxed because I know with hard work, focus and consistency, the goal is gonna come.”
Enyinnaya’s opener was followed by a second goal from Genino Palace before half-time, putting the hosts firmly in control.
Bright Ndlovu pulled one back for Sekhukhune after the break, but Chumani Butsaka sealed the victory with a clinical left-footed finish to make it 3-1.
