Rangers International will begin their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign away from their traditional home ground, with the club confirming that their opening fixture against Katsina United will be played at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
The Flying Antelopes announced on Tuesday that the Matchday 1 encounter will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00pm.
The relocation is a temporary arrangement forced by the ongoing renovation work at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Rangers’ traditional home.
Rangers will therefore officially be the designated home side when they face Katsina United in Abeokuta, despite the fixture being played hundreds of kilometres away from Enugu.

The flying Antelopes will be hoping the change of venue does not disrupt their preparations as they target a positive start to the new NPFL campaign.
Playing a home fixture away from home is an unusual challenge, particularly with Rangers unable to benefit from the familiar surroundings and support traditionally associated with the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The club will instead look to make the MKO Abiola Sports Complex their temporary base for the opening fixture and secure three points against Katsina United.
