The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Danlami Alanana as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nigeria National League (NNL), following the redeployment of Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman to Inter-Club Competitions at the NFF.
Alanana, who brings a wealth of experience to the role, previously served as the first Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).
His NFF tenure also includes roles in various committees, such as the Referees Committee Unit, the Players and Status Arbitration Committee, and the Match Commissioners Appointment Committee.
Most recently, he was Head of the Inter-Clubs Department.

The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the NNL under Alanana’s leadership.
Alanana’s vast experience includes working with key figures like Late Chief Oyuiki Obaseki, Charles Ojugbana, Alhassan Yakmut, and Saliu Abubakar in shaping the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Meanwhile, the NNL’s second stanza resumed on Friday, with matches scheduled across the country for Saturday and Sunday.

However, the match between Kebbi United and Yobe Desert Stars has been postponed following an unfortunate auto crash involving the Yobe D. S. team.
