Plymouth Argyle head coach, Miron Muslic, has expressed his desire to sign Nigerian striker, Muhamed Tijani, on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Tijani joined the Pilgrims on loan from Czech side Slavia Prague but has struggled with injuries, limiting his appearances to just 11 games, starting two.
Despite the setbacks, Tijani has shown glimpses of his quality, scoring one goal against Sheffield United in Plymouth’s last three games. Muslic believes Tijani can be a crucial player for his team and wants to keep him at the club.
“We are doing our jobs in the background,” Muslic revealed in an interview with Plymouth Herald. “I’m so happy for Tijani, he could finally show himself as a starter. He’s a threat inside the box, and if it’s too transitional, he cannot show his best qualities, but I think he did show his value the last time as a starter.”

The Austrian manager emphasized that his team is working on securing Tijani’s services permanently, stating, “There are clearly considerations to continue working with Tijani. Of course, 100 per cent, we want him to be here with us next season.”
Tijani had previously expressed his interest in staying with Plymouth Argyle, but on the condition that the team avoids relegation to the Sky Bet League One. “Yes, I am interested,” the 24-year-old said. “I wouldn’t say it depends on staying up, but if we do stay in the Championship, I’m very interested.”

Plymouth Argyle currently sit at the bottom of the Championship table, with two games left to play this season. They are level on points with Cardiff City, and Luton Town and Derby County are just three points above them.
Muslic will be relying on Tijani to lead the line against Preston North End this weekend, hoping to give his team an edge in attack.

“We are going to have a big bear up front on Saturday, and let’s see how long Tijani can stay on the pitch,” Muslic said. “He looked pretty solid the last time, but I didn’t want to take the risk during the last 10, 15 minutes. He wanted to continue, but I just had these hamstring injuries in my head and I wanted to protect him”.
