Barau FC receive financial backing from club founder ahead of NNL playoffs

Barau FC have received financial support from club founder Senator Barau I. Jibrin ahead of the 2025 NNL Super Eight Playoffs.

Barau FC have received a financial pledge from club founder and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, as they prepare for the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight Playoffs.

The Senator made the commitment during a visit to the club’s training ground on Monday, where he addressed players and staff ahead of their campaign for promotion to the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

According to a statement from the club’s media officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Senator Barau praised the team for reaching the Super Eight and reiterated his long-term vision for the club.

“We are here to visit and motivate you, the young players of Barau FC. My vision is to see this club among the top teams in Nigeria and eventually in the world,” he said.

“By the grace of God, I will support you in every possible way to gain promotion to the NPFL.”

Barau was received by the club’s management team, led by Chairman Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, alongside Board Member Alhaji Abdul AP, Sporting Director Yahya Muhammad, Secretary Umar Lawan, and Curator Aliyu Lawan.

Coaching staff, including Technical Adviser Rabi’u Tata, Chief Coach Madu Muhammad, Assistant Coach Surajo Mukhtar, and Goalkeeper Trainer Babangida Muhammad, were also present during the visit.

Speaking on behalf of the players, Usman Maidubji expressed gratitude to Senator Barau for his continued backing, describing the support as vital to the club’s growth and morale.

The club’s ambitions now turn to securing a place in the top tier of Nigerian football. Barau FC will be hoping to convert off-pitch motivation into on-field success during the crucial playoff phase.
