The Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed that its flagship promotion tournament, the Super 8, will take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, from 5 to 12 July 2025.
Eight teams have booked their place in the highly anticipated competition following the conclusion of a keenly contested regular season: Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma FC, and Barau FC.
In a statement released by the league board, the NNL expressed its gratitude to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the hosting rights, describing it as a “kind gesture” that further reinforces the state’s reputation as a sporting hub in Nigeria.
“We are happy to announce that the sports-loving Governor of Delta State, Hon. Oborevwori, has given approval for the hosting of the NNL Super 8 in Asaba,” the statement read.

“We’re grateful for this kind gesture, which will further cement Delta State’s position as a leading sporting state in the country.”
The tournament will determine the overall champion of the second-tier league and the four teams to be promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season.

NNL Chairman George Aluo said fans can expect high-quality football, as all eight teams have proven pedigree and are in strong contention for top-flight status.
The 2024/25 season has been hailed as one of the most competitive in recent memory, and the Super 8 is set to deliver a fitting climax.
