Noni Madueke agrees personal terms to join Arsenal

Arsenal has reached an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, paving the way for a potential summer transfer between the two London rivals. The 23-year-old England international has reportedly given his “green light” to the switch, although formal negotiations between the clubs are yet to begin.

Madueke’s versatility on both flanks makes him a valuable prospect for Mikel Arteta’s squad. He’s among the top options Arsenal is considering to bolster their attacking depth, along with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Madueke’s impressive form last season, scoring seven goals in 32 Premier League appearances, has caught the attention of Arsenal’s coaching staff.

While Madueke has agreed to personal terms, Arsenal still needs to agree on a transfer fee with Chelsea. The Blues value Madueke at around £45-50 million, a price tag Arsenal is reportedly hesitant to meet. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development, stating, “Noni Madueke said yes to Arsenal, as reported today. The agreement on personal terms is ready and done, with parties advancing on details this morning.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea has announced the signing of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, potentially paving the way for Madueke’s departure. The Blues had hoped to sign Gittens before the FIFA Club World Cup but couldn’t reach an agreement with BVB. Gittens joins Chelsea on a seven-year contract, with a transfer fee worth up to £55.5 million.

With both clubs still holding firm, the move hinges on Arsenal submitting a competitive offer and Chelsea being open to negotiation. Madueke’s future remains uncertain, but it seems likely he’ll make the switch to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal’s interest in Madueke is part of their efforts to strengthen their squad, particularly in attack, where they’ve already signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.
