The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed that members of the Tunisian delegation at the ongoing CAA U18/U20 African Athletics Championship in Abeokuta, Ogun State, were involved in a road traffic accident on Saturday, 19th July 2025.
The incident occurred while the team was returning to the Games Village from the competition venue. It was revealed that the affected vehicle was not under the officially organised transport protocol, which normally includes security escorts and support personnel.
In a stroke of fortune, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, was passing through the same route and immediately stopped to offer assistance at the scene.
