Fulham have added Basel’s Nigerian forward Philip Otele to their list of attacking options as Marco Silva looks to strengthen his frontline before the transfer window shuts.
According to BBC Sports the Nigerian, who is understood to be available for under €15m, has caught the eye following his performances in Switzerland.
Fulham scouts were present in Basel on Tuesday as Otele featured in their 1-1 Champions League qualifier draw with FC Copenhagen.

Otele only made his switch to Basel permanent this summer after an impressive loan spell from Al-Wahda, during which he scored nine goals in 18 Swiss Super League games.
The club triggered their option to buy for around €3m, tying him down until 2028.
Eintracht Frankfurt are also monitoring the winger, who previously topped the Romanian Liga I scoring charts and has been described as “incredible” by former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu.

Otele is a cheaper option to other targets like Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson and Shakhtar’s Kevin.
Otele, 26, has two goals and two assists in the Swiss top flight this season having played in Lithuania, Romania and UAE. He also had a trial at Arsenal at the age of 14.

Negotiations for Kevin are not believed to have progressed this week as Shakhtar continue to hold out for over £43m. It remains unclear whether the Ukrainian club are willing to negotiate.

Fulham remain keen to bring in at least one more forward, with Silva open to adding two attackers before the deadline, regardless of whether Rodrigo Muniz stays at Craven Cottage.
