Bayern Munich have made Ademola Lookman their latest attacking target after approaching Atalanta with a loan offer for the Nigeria international.
According to transfer expert David Ornstein German champions are proposing a season-long loan with a sizable fee and an option to buy the 27-year-old at a substantial price.
Lookman is keen on a new challenge after three successful years in Italy and is weighing up his options. Inter Milan have expressed interest, but Atalanta are unwilling to sanction a move to another Serie A club.
Chelsea were in talks with Bayern to send Nicolas Jackson on loan, but that deal fell through following Liam Delap’s hamstring injury at the weekend, forcing Bayern to accelerate their pursuit of Lookman.

Since arriving at Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 for around €10m, Lookman has become one of Serie A’s most dangerous forwards.
He hit 17 goals and 10 assists during the 2023/24 campaign, before writing history in May 2024 by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, sealing Atalanta’s first European trophy.

The London-born forward began his career at Charlton before moving to Everton in 2017. Spells at RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester followed, but it was only at Atalanta that Lookman fulfilled his potential.
He is also a key figure for Nigeria, helping the Super Eagles reach the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Bayern have been exploring striker options throughout the summer after injuries disrupted their squad. With the Jackson deal collapsing, Lookman has now emerged as a top priority before the window closes.
