Rangers Women FC marked their NWFL Nationwide League debut with a 3–0 win over Osklean FC at the Bwari Township Stadium in Abuja.
The victory sets a strong tone for the Enugu-based side in Nigeria’s competitive 3rd-tier women’s football division.
Chisom Onuchukwu opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Substitute Pius Peace doubled the lead in the 68th minute, and Onuchukwu sealed the victory with her second goal in the 82nd minute.
The result reflected the vision outlined by Coach Favour Aneke ahead of the match, who emphasized both ambition and identity for his team.
“Our mission is simple, to light up hope for the Enugu sports-loving girl child and beyond,” Aneke said.
“Our Rangers strong heritage and never-say-die spirit, that’s what makes us unique.”

Aneke attributes their performance to the tactical system he developed, “Press-Play”, emphasizing coordinated pressing, quick transitions, and movement.
“In my system, defence and attack work as one. I don’t motivate them, I only remind them why Rangers is Rangers, they can’t help the storyline,” he explained.
Despite being a largely inexperienced squad, Rangers Women dominated possession, created multiple chances, and left Osklean FC unable to respond effectively.
“We are our own toughest opponent. Nobody can beat you more than yourself,” Aneke added, highlighting the focus and determination that powered the win.
Elsewhere in Group A, DreamStars Ladies defeated Plateau Queens 4–2 in Abuja. Juliana Solomon (25’) and Juliet Okoloko (55’) scored for Plateau Queens, while Kaosarat Akanji (3’) and Oluebube Ibezundu (13’, 18’) struck early for DreamStars Ladies before Aishat Sanni added the fourth in the 71st minute.
