Team Enugu win 2025 Game On Afrika Tournament in Nigeria

Team Enugu claimed the 2025 Game On Afrika Tournament Nigeria title after defeating Team Imo 5–4 on penalties in Obowo.

The final, played at Okenalogho Secondary Technical School, ended goalless before a tense shootout decided the contest.

The victory sends Enugu to the continental showdown, where they will face the winner of the Ghana edition for the overall 2025 crown.

Tournament CEO Prince Emeka Nwankwo said the event delivered on a vision started by his father, praising organisers for a smooth competition.

He thanked Project Manager Lady Jenny Anusiem and state coordinators Neville Okere (Imo), Felix Nwosu (Enugu), Femi Ajilore (FCT) and Dr Abolore Abdul (Lagos), alongside media teams, volunteers and participating clubs.

There were individual honours at the closing ceremony.

Enugu goalkeeper Orisakwe Chibuike Fortune (Abobey) was named Best Goalkeeper, while captain Chukwuemeka Iwuchukwu (Obele Emmy) won Midfielder of the Tournament for his consistent control in the middle.
