The release of the official ballots for the 2025 CAF Awards has provided a detailed look at how Nigerian representatives voted across multiple categories.
In the Men’s Player of the Year category, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi won with 533 points, followed by Mohamed Salah with 317 and Victor Osimhen with 240.
Among Nigerian voters, former Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi, acting as a CAF Technical Expert, placed Osimhen fifth, giving him one point. His top four selections were: Hakimi, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Salah, and Serhou Guirassy.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and captain William Troost-Ekong both voted Osimhen first, followed by Hakimi and Pape Matar Sarr.
In the Young Men’s Player category, Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi finished 10th. Nigeria’s media voter, Oluwashina Okeleji, did not include him in his top five.
For the Goalkeeper of the Year (Men) award, Stanley Nwabali placed eighth overall. Chelle and Troost-Ekong ranked him first, while Okeleji’s ballot placed Cameroon’s André Onana first and Nwabali second.

On the women’s side, Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak won the Women’s Player of the Year award with 223 points, ahead of Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade (155) and Esther Okoronkwo (134).
Nigeria’s voting included:
Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu: Okoronkwo first, Ajibade second, Chebbak third.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade: backed Nigeria’s nominees strongly.
Media representative Samuel Ahmadu: Barbra Banda (Zambia) first, Temwa Chawinga second, Okoronkwo third, Ajibade fifth.
In the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, Chiamaka Nnadozie retained the award for a third consecutive year. Madugu and Ajibade placed her first, while Ahmadu ranked her fifth.

In the Women’s Young Player category, Shakirat Moshood finished second behind Morocco’s Doha El Madani, with Ahmadu placing her fifth.

For the Women’s National Team of the Year, the Super Falcons won with 106 points, narrowly ahead of Morocco’s 98. Ahmadu’s ballot listed Tanzania first and Nigeria fifth the only Nigerian ballot to rank the team in that position.
