Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has confirmed the Super Eagles squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which kicks off on 21 December 2025.
The 28-man roster includes the return of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye a regular at Udinese in Italy has been left out while first choice goalie goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is listed despite battling with an ankle and hand injury. Paul Onuachu who has been banging goals for Trabzonspor gets a deserving return to the squad.
However stars like Kelechi Iheanacho, Umar Sadiq, Tolu Arokodare, Victor Boniface, Chrisantus Uche and Alhassan Yusuf have been dropped.
New additions to the squad feature defender Ryan Alebiosu, midfielders Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Usman Muhammed, Tochukwu Nnadi, and forward Salim Fago Lawal. There’s no place for the home based players in the AFCON squad once again.
The Super Eagles are set to face Egypt in a friendly at Cairo Stadium on 16 December before flying to Fès, Morocco, for their opening Group C match against Tanzania on 23 December.

Nigeria share the group with Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania, aiming for a fourth continental title.
