Brentford have decided to delay negotiations over Frank Onyeka’s future despite growing interest from Coventry City and Spanish side Valencia.
The Super Eagles midfielder is entering the final year of his contract, leaving Brentford with limited opportunities to secure a transfer fee either in January or during the summer window.
Onyeka has seen his role reduced significantly this season, making just six Premier League appearances without a single start following his return from a loan spell at Bundesliga club Augsburg.

The 28-year-old featured regularly in Germany, playing 31 league matches, and later impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he started four games for Nigeria.
Those performances have attracted interest from several clubs, with Championship leaders Coventry City understood to be the most advanced in their pursuit as Frank Lampard looks to add Premier League experience to his squad.

However, talks between Brentford and Coventry have slowed, a move that has reportedly discouraged Valencia and Sheffield United from progressing discussions.

Onyeka is open to leaving the Gtech Community Stadium in search of regular football, with Brentford indicating he does not feature in their long-term plans.
