Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is set to join Atlético Madrid after a permanent transfer agreement was reached with Atalanta.
The deal, which is expected to be worth around €40 million, includes a fixed fee of €35m with a further €5m in add-ons.
Final contractual details have being completed, with medical preparations already under way ahead of the move.
Lookman has agreed a long-term contract with the La Liga club after making his decision in the early hours of Sunday paving the way for Atlético to plan his travel and medical.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that all aspects of the agreement have now been settled, with Atlético and Atalanta aligned on every detail of the transfer.
The 28-year-old is expected to become one of Atlético’s key attacking signings of the window as Diego Simeone looks to add pace, power and directness to his forward line.

Lookman leaves Atalanta after three seasons in Bergamo, where he enjoyed his most memorable moment in May 2024 by scoring a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final to secure the club’s first major European trophy.

His departure follows months of speculation over his future, with interest from multiple clubs.
