Kelechi Iheanacho said it “feels good” to help Celtic secure a crucial victory after scoring a late winner against Dundee FC in the Scottish Premiership.
The Nigerian forward struck in the 82nd minute at Dens Park, sealing a 2-1 win and ending a lengthy goal drought that stretched back to October.
Coming off the bench to replace Tomas Cvancara, Iheanacho made an immediate impact, forcing his way past a defender before finishing calmly from a cross by Marcelo Saracchi.
“It feels good to help the team to get the win today,” Iheanacho told Celtic TV. “We really showed character and worked hard to get the win.”
Celtic had dominated large spells of the first half but were unable to convert their chances. Dundee responded after the break, levelling from the penalty spot to set up a tense finale.
“I think, especially in the first half, we blew them away and had a few chances, but unfortunately it didn’t click,” Iheanacho said.
“In the second half they came back and scored the penalty, but at the end we got the points which is massive.”

The goal marked Iheanacho’s fourth of the season in 18 appearances, following a campaign disrupted by injury, including a hamstring problem that kept him sidelined for several weeks.
“I’ve been out for a while, so it feels good to be back and to help the team get the win,” he added.
