Nigeria produced the highest number of standout performers among African stars across Europe’s top leagues this weekend, with Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams, Umar Sadiq and David Okereke all delivering decisive contributions for their clubs.
It was another highly productive round of matches for African footballers abroad, with goals, assists and title-defining performances spread across England, Spain, Italy and Germany.
In Turkey, Osimhen once again delivered on the biggest stage as the Super Eagles striker scored twice to fire Galatasaray S.K. to a dramatic 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor and seal the Turkish Süper Lig title.
The Nigerian striker proved decisive in a tense contest, calmly converting from the penalty spot before netting the winning goal in the 89th minute to spark wild celebrations inside Rams Park.

The victory secured a record-extending 26th league title for Galatasaray and completed a fourth consecutive Turkish crown for the Istanbul giants, while Osimhen’s latest brace further underlined his growing influence since arriving in Turkey.
In England, Yankuba Minteh capped an impressive performance with a late goal as Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. strengthened their push for European qualification with a dominant 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Seagulls had raced into an early lead through Jack Hinshelwood and Lewis Dunk before Minteh sealed the victory in the 86th minute to give manager Fabian Hurzeler the perfect celebration following his contract extension.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Omar Marmoush rounded off Manchester City F.C.’s commanding 3-0 victory over Brentford with a composed finish after being set up by Erling Haaland.

Jeremy Doku had opened the scoring before Haaland added a second as Pep Guardiola’s side extended their unbeaten league run to 13 matches.
At Selhurst Park, Ismaila Sarr and Beto both made decisive contributions in Crystal Palace’s entertaining 2-2 draw against Everton.

Sarr inspired Palace’s comeback with a well-taken equaliser after combining brilliantly with Daniel Munoz, before later producing a crucial goal-line clearance to preserve the draw.
Beto had earlier restored Everton’s lead with his ninth Premier League goal of the season, showing composure inside the area before Palace eventually levelled through Jean-Philippe Mateta.

In Spain, Akor Adams emerged as the hero for Sevilla FC with a stunning stoppage-time winner in their dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Espanyol.

With Sevilla battling to avoid relegation, the Nigerian forward struck deep into added time, curling a powerful effort into the bottom corner after capitalizing on tired defending.
Espanyol had initially taken the lead through Tyrhys Dolan before Andres Castrin equalized for the hosts to set up Adams’ dramatic late intervention.
Another thrilling comeback in La Liga saw Karl Etta Eyong score Levante’s winner in a dramatic 3-2 victory over 10-man Osasuna.
The Cameroonian striker ended his long goal drought in style, diving to head home late in the game after coming off the bench.

Levante had fallen two goals behind early following an own goal from Jeremy Toljan and a strike from Ante Budimir before Victor Garcia scored twice to level the contest ahead of Etta Eyong’s decisive contribution.
Elsewhere in Spain, Umar Sadiq made the difference as Valencia secured a valuable 1-0 victory away to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.

The Nigerian striker came off the bench and quickly made his impact, powering home a header following a swift counterattack to hand Valencia their first win in the Basque Country in 16 attempts.
Despite sustained pressure from Athletic Club, Valencia defended resolutely with captain Jose Gaya leading the resistance as the victory moved them five points clear of the relegation zone.
In Italy, David Okereke capped a key night for U.S. Cremonese with a late goal in their crucial 3-0 victory over nine-man Pisa.

The Nigerian forward showed impressive skill and composure, dribbling past a defender before finishing from a tight angle to seal the win and boost Cremonese’s survival hopes.
Jamie Vardy had earlier ended his goal drought with the opener before Federico Bonazzoli added a second, while Pisa’s problems worsened following red cards for Rosen Bozhinov and Loyola.
Also in Serie A, Idrissa Gueye sealed an important 2-0 victory for Udinese Calcio against Cagliari with a late finish after being set up by Keinan Davis.

Udinese eventually broke through after a balanced first half when Adam Buksa scored from close range before the 19-year-old Senegalese midfielder wrapped up the result late on.
In Germany, once again inspired Borussia Dortmund as they secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

After Frankfurt had taken an early lead through Can Uzun, the Guinean striker sparked Dortmund’s comeback with a close range finish from Julian Ryerson’s cross.
Nico Schlotterbeck and Samuele Inacio added further goals before Jonathan Burkardt struck late for Frankfurt, but Dortmund held on to strengthen their push for a strong Bundesliga finish.

Across Europe, African footballers once again produced decisive moments for their clubs, but Nigeria stood tallest among them with multiple players delivering title winning goals, survival saving strikes and match-defining performances throughout the weekend.
