Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has fueled fresh speculation about his future at Celtic after delivering a cryptic response over ongoing contract uncertainty ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the Scottish champions on a one-year deal last summer after leaving Sevilla, has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence in recent weeks despite enduring an injury-hit campaign earlier in the season.
Iheanacho once again proved decisive on Wednesday night when he scored a dramatic 99th-minute penalty in Celtic’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Motherwell, a result that pushed the Scottish Premiership title race to the final day.
The former Leicester City forward has now directly contributed eight crucial points for Celtic as a substitute this season and has gradually transformed into one of the club’s most reliable impact players.
He also played a major role in Celtic’s run to the Scottish Cup final after scoring a brace in the emphatic 6-2 semifinal victory over St Mirren.

Celtic inserted an option to extend Iheanacho’s contract by an additional year when he signed last summer, but no official announcement has yet been made regarding whether the club intends to activate the clause.
Asked about his future following the dramatic win over Motherwell, Iheanacho avoided giving a direct answer and instead shifted attention to Celtic’s upcoming title decider.
“I think after 90 minutes on Saturday, then we’ll talk about that,” the Super Eagles striker said via Daily Record.
The statement has only intensified speculation around the 29-year-old, whose recent performances have strengthened calls for Celtic to retain him beyond this season.
Former Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi recently urged the Scottish giants to hand Iheanacho a new contract, insisting the striker still has plenty to offer at the highest level.
After struggling during his spell in Spain and an inconsistent loan stint at Middlesbrough, Iheanacho appears to have rediscovered confidence under Brendan Rodgers in Scotland.
Celtic will now turn full focus toward Saturday’s crucial clash against Hearts at Celtic Park, where victory would secure a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title.

The Hoops are also preparing for the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic on May 23, with Iheanacho potentially on course to end the campaign with a domestic double and another major trophy in his career.
