Victor Boniface celebrated Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 22 years by announcing a ₦1.5 million giveaway for fans after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth.

Arsenal’s long wait for Premier League glory finally came to an end on Tuesday night and one Nigerian football star wasted no time joining the celebrations.

Victor Boniface announced a ₦1.5 million giveaway for Arsenal supporters shortly after the North London club were confirmed as champions of England for the first time in more than two decades.

The Gunners sealed the title after Manchester City failed to defeat Bournemouth, drawing 1-1 to leave Mikel Arteta’s side mathematically unreachable heading into the final day of the season.

It marks Arsenal’s first league triumph since their historic “Invincibles” campaign under Arsène Wenger during the 2003/04 season.

Remarkably, some members of the current squad, including teenage talents Max Dowman and Myles Lewis-Skelly, were not even born the last time Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy.

After finishing runners-up in three consecutive campaigns, Arsenal finally completed their rise back to the summit following a season defined by consistency, resilience and tactical discipline under Mikel Arteta.

Although critics frequently labelled the Gunners as overly reliant on set-pieces, Arsenal consistently found ways to win crucial matches throughout the season.

Their title charge briefly looked under threat after a poor run in April allowed Manchester City to reduce the gap, but Pep Guardiola’s side failed to capitalise fully.

City needed victory against Bournemouth to keep the race alive until the final weekend, but goals from Eli Junior Kroupi and a late response from Erling Haaland only resulted in a draw that officially crowned Arsenal champions.

Boniface, a known Arsenal supporter, closely followed the dramatic title developments online and regularly shared reactions throughout the evening on social media.

Moments after the final whistle, the Bayer Leverkusen striker took to X, formerly Twitter, to celebrate Arsenal’s achievement before announcing the cash reward for fans.

Referencing popular Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, Boniface revealed that the artiste planned to give out ₦1 million while he personally added another ₦1.5 million to the celebration.

“Omo as Arsenal win league @Odumodublvck_ say he go drop 1m for boys ooo. Me go add 1.5,” Boniface posted.

The Super Eagles striker later asked an Arsenal fan to provide an account number for the money to be shared among supporters before eventually posting proof of payment online.

Arsenal will now receive the Premier League trophy in front of their supporters when they face Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.

The Gunners could still complete an even more historic campaign later this month when they face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final as they chase the first European crown in the club’s history.
