The Nigeria Premier Football League has placed greater emphasis on youth development and domestic cup football after integrating both the NPFL Youth League and the President Federation Cup into its official 2026/27 football calendar.
The newly released schedule confirms that the NPFL Youth League programme will take place between July and August 2026, with venues to be announced by the league organizers.
The inclusion of the youth competition alongside the senior league calendar underlines the league body’s commitment to strengthening player development while ensuring clubs can plan their activities well in advance.
The calendar also maps out every major stage of the President Federation Cup, providing greater clarity for clubs competing on multiple fronts throughout the season.

State playoffs and finals will precede the national competition before the tournament progresses through the Round of 64, Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals.
By publishing the timelines alongside league fixtures, the NPFL has created a more coordinated domestic football schedule, enabling clubs to better manage player workloads, travel arrangements and squad planning.
The integrated approach also provides supporters, broadcasters and stakeholders with greater certainty over the domestic football calendar, reducing scheduling uncertainty during the campaign.
