Kano Pillars’ Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 3 fixture against Shooting Stars has been postponed following the Ibadan club’s involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kano Pillars confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday, saying the fixture had been moved to a later date because Shooting Stars are representing Nigeria in continental competition.
The new date for the league encounter will be communicated by the NPFL at a later time.
The postponement comes as Shooting Stars prepare for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
The Oluyole Warriors will have to balance their continental campaign with their domestic commitments as they continue their bid to reach the group stage of the competition.

The postponement means Kano Pillars will have to wait longer for their third league appearance of the 2026/27 season.
The Sai Masu Gida have made an unbeaten start to the campaign, picking up four points from their opening two matches.
Pillars began the season with a 2-2 draw away to Kwara United before recording a 3-2 victory over Niger Tornadoes in their first home game.
The results have seen the Kano side score five goals while conceding four in their opening two matches, leaving them unbeaten ahead of the postponed meeting with Shooting Stars.

The fixture will now be rearranged, with the NPFL expected to announce a new date after taking the clubs’ domestic and continental schedules into consideration.
Kano Pillars also wished Shooting Stars success in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign, particularly in their upcoming second-leg meeting with CS Sfaxien.
