The former Egypt striker was emotional after guiding the North Africans to a landmark 3-1 victory, a result that delivered the nation’s first World Cup win in decades and strengthened belief among supporters back home.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, Hassan expressed gratitude to the Egyptian president after receiving congratulations following the victory.

“I would like to thank the President for his support,” Hassan said.
