Kwara United head coach Sanni Tunde has sent a strong message to Asante Kotoko ahead of the decisive second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie in Abuja.
The Afonja Warriors suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat to the Ghanaian FA Cup champions in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday but remain confident of turning things around on home soil.
Speaking after the match, Tunde downplayed Kotoko’s victory and insisted luck had favoured the hosts.

“Our assumption is not what we met. They are a bit luckier today, that’s it. They are a bit luckier, but they are coming to meet us at home,” he said.
Kotoko opened their campaign in style when Emmanuel Antwi scored from distance in the 19th minute. Kwara United responded through Johnmark Atule in the 34th, only for Albert Amoah to restore Kotoko’s lead just before the break.

Atule struck again in first-half stoppage time to level the scores at 2-2, but Joseph Ablorh restored Kotoko’s advantage early in the second half. Amoah then converted a 68th-minute penalty after Patrick Asiedu was fouled.
