Moses Simon strikes as Paris FC end 46-year Ligue 1 wait

Paris FC fans had reason to cheer as Moses Simon fired them to a thrilling win and a slice of history against Metz.

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon was the hero as Paris FC claimed a historic 3-2 win over Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday night.

The victory at Stade Jean Bouin ended the club’s 46-year wait for a top-flight triumph and sparked wild celebrations among the home support.

Metz struck first through Sadibou Sané in the 22nd minute, but Ilan Kebbal’s penalty on the stroke of half-time pulled the hosts level. Kebbal struck again just after the restart, only for Boubacar Traoré to equalise.

Simon, who had set up Kebbal’s first, then fired home the decisive goal in the 67th minute after a sweeping counter-attack. Metz’s night grew worse when Sané was sent off late on.

Kebbal’s brace took his season tally to three goals and one assist, while Simon has now contributed two goals and an assist in just three appearances. The result ended Paris FC’s early-season losing streak and gave their fans a night to remember.
