Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche is close to completing a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old has already arrived in London and agreed personal terms with the Community Shield winners, according to transfer Fabrizio Romano.
He is expected to undergo a medical ahead of the deal being finalised before Monday’s deadline.
Uche joined Getafe last summer from AD Ceuta for just €550,000. Initially deployed as a defensive midfielder, he has since been converted into a more attacking role.
His form has lifted his value, with Wolves’ €20m not enough as the player wanted to spend one more season at the club.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner personally spoke with the player to convince him, aided by Getafe’s president, who held lengthy talks with the Nigerian as the Spanish club were forced to sell due to La Liga’s financial restrictions.
Last season, he scored four goals and provided six assists in 33 La Liga matches, helping Getafe avoid relegation. Palace now see him as a potential replacement for Eberechi Eze, who left for Arsenal last month.

The move will also be transformative for Uche personally. He currently earns around €90,000 a year in Spain, but a Premier League deal is expected to bring a major financial upgrade.

He would become the third Super Eagles player to secure a Premier League transfer this summer, following Samuel Chukwueze pending move to Fulham and Tolu Arokodare’s imminent move to Wolves.
