“We are going to Wembley” – Chiamaka Nnadozie reacts as Brighton reach historic FA Cup final

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has reacted with joy after Brighton & Hove Albion Women secured a dramatic place in the Women’s FA Cup final for the first time in their history.

Brighton produced a stunning comeback to defeat Liverpool F.C. Women 3-2 at the BrewDog Stadium on Sunday, with a stoppage-time winner sealing a memorable semifinal victory.

Nnadozie played a key role in the historic night, making important saves throughout the contest as Brighton overturned a two goal deficit to book their ticket to Wembley.

Liverpool had taken early control of the match, racing into a 2-0 lead through Denise O’Sullivan and Beata Olsson, putting Brighton under heavy pressure in the opening stages.

However, Brighton responded quickly when Manuela Vanegas pulled one back before Madison Haley restored parity in the second half to level the tie at 2-2.

With extra time looming, Nadine Noordam struck in the 95th minute to complete the comeback and send Brighton into their first-ever FA Cup final.

Following the final whistle, Nnadozie took to her official X account to express her excitement at the achievement.

She wrote: “We are going to Wembley. Straight into the FA Cup finals. Super proud of this team. I give God the glory”.

The victory marks a major milestone for Brighton Women, who will now prepare for the biggest match in their history at Wembley Stadium, where they will face either Chelsea Women or Manchester City Women in the final.
