Falconets crush Ghana to lift first WAFU B U20 Girls Cup

Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, announced themselves as West Africa’s new champions with a commanding 3-0 demolition of Ghana’s Black Princesses at Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun on Tuesday.

The win was powered by a stellar attacking trio. Janet Akekoromowei opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, unleashing a thunderous long-range free-kick in the 17th minute.

Just six minutes later, Alaba Olabiyi capitalised on a neat headed assist to double the lead, leaving Ghana reeling.

Ramotalahi Kareem completed the rout in the 60th minute, slotting home a teasing cross from Akekoromowei and matching her as tournament top scorer.
