The 40-year-old was taking part in a routine kickabout at a primary school pitch in Ungwan Yelwa, an area close to his residence.

According to Owngoal.ng, he completed the first 45 minutes before slumping five minutes into the second half of the session and died before he could be taken to hospital.

Eneramo retired from professional football in 2018 following a career that took him across Africa and Europe.

He played for clubs including Lobi Stars in Nigeria and had spells in Tunisia and Turkey with Espérance, USM Alger, Beşiktaş, Sivasspor, Manisaspor, İstanbul Başakşehir and Karabükspor.

At international level, he made his Nigeria debut in 2009 against Tunisia in a World Cup qualifier, scoring in a 2-2 draw. He went on to earn 10 caps for the Super Eagles, scoring three goals.

There has been no further official confirmation beyond the social media post from his former club.
