Calvin Bassey celebrated a major career milestone on Sunday after making his 100th appearance for Fulham in their 1-1 Premier League draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
The encounter also marked the return of fellow Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, who featured again after spending several weeks sidelined with a hamstring injury.

While the result offered little boost to Fulham’s fading European ambitions, the afternoon carried special significance for Bassey, whose importance within Marco Silva’s squad has continued to grow since arriving from Ajax in July 2023.
The Nigerian defender has evolved into one of Fulham’s most dependable players, earning praise for his physicality, versatility, recovery pace and consistency across the backline.
His latest appearance further highlighted the remarkable turnaround in his career after enduring a difficult period in the Netherlands before rebuilding both confidence and reputation in England.

Fulham endured a difficult start as Wolves began aggressively in front of their home supporters.
The hosts eventually broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Mateus Mane fired beyond Bernd Leno after being set up by South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan.
Wolves continued to threaten throughout the opening half, with Adam Armstrong striking the post while Yerson Mosquera caused further problems from set pieces as the home side searched for a second goal.
Fulham gradually settled into the contest as the half progressed, with Iwobi helping restore composure and rhythm in midfield during his return to the starting lineup.

The visitors were rewarded deep into first-half stoppage time after VAR intervened to award Fulham a penalty. American defender Antonee Robinson converted calmly from the spot to bring the visitors level before the interval.
The second half also featured more Nigerian involvement as Fulham introduced Samuel Chukwueze to provide greater attacking urgency, while Wolves responded by bringing on Tolu Arokodare.

Both sides pushed for a late winner, but goalkeepers José Sá and Bernd Leno produced important saves to preserve the draw.
Although the point did little to alter Fulham’s position in the table, Bassey’s century appearance and Iwobi’s successful return from injury offered encouraging signs ahead of the club’s final match of the season.
