Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi rounded off Fulham’s pre-season campaign in style by scoring in a 2-1 comeback victory over Portuguese outfit Farense on Saturday, giving Marco Silva’s side valuable momentum ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
The Nigerian international converted from the penalty spot as Fulham overturned a first half deficit in their final warm up fixture of their training camp in Portugal.
Farense had taken the lead before the break, leaving the Premier League side with work to do after halftime.
Fulham’s response was swift and composed.Their breakthrough came after Emile Smith Rowe was fouled inside the penalty area, with Iwobi stepping up to take responsibility from 12 yards.
The 30-year-old confidently sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, calmly placing his spot-kick into the corner to restore parity and swing the momentum in Fulham’s favour.
The equaliser sparked a stronger finish from Marco Silva’s men, who continued to press for a winner as the contest entered its closing stages.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 89th minute when Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz converted another penalty after Josh King was brought down inside the box, sealing a deserved comeback victory.

Last season, the former Arsenal and Everton midfielder registered four goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances, playing a key role as Fulham narrowly missed out on European qualification.
