English Premier League sides Everton and Newcastle are reportedly monitoring Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Nigerian attracting growing interest despite a difficult spell in England.
The 22-year-old is expected to return to Spanish side Getafe at the end of the season following an underwhelming loan stint at Crystal Palace, where he struggled to establish himself under manager Oliver Glasner.
Uche joined Palace last summer on a season-long loan agreement that included an obligation-to-buy clause. However, the condition was dependent on the midfielder starting at least 10 Premier League matches a target he ultimately failed to meet.

The Nigerian international found opportunities hard to come by at Selhurst Park, with Glasner using him sparingly throughout the campaign. His involvement further declined after the turn of the year, as he accumulated only 172 minutes of football since January.
As a result, Uche is now set for a return to Getafe, although uncertainty remains surrounding his long-term future in Spain.
There had initially been concerns that Getafe might be forced into selling the midfielder due to La Liga’s strict financial regulations.

According to reports from Spain, Everton and Newcastle are closely following the midfielder’s situation and may consider making formal approaches during the summer transfer window.
Before his difficult spell in England, Uche had impressed in La Liga and built a reputation as one of the promising young midfielders in Spanish football.

At just 22, clubs are understood to still view him as a player with considerable room for development.
The Super Eagles midfielder is currently valued at €15 million, a figure that could prove affordable for interested Premier League sides.
Getafe may also be tempted to cash in should a suitable offer arrive, particularly considering they signed him for just €500,000 two years ago a deal that would represent a substantial financial return.

Uche still has two years remaining on his contract at Getafe and is believed to hold strong affection for the club, meaning any interested side would likely need to present a convincing sporting project to secure his signature.
