CAF president Patrice Motsepe is set to visit Tanzania as preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations continue, with the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam scheduled for inspection during his visit.
Motsepe is expected to arrive in Tanzania on Wednesday and will be received by Tanzania Football Federation president Wallace Karia before meeting Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba to discuss preparations for the tournament.
The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is among the key facilities being assessed as Tanzania works alongside Kenya and Uganda towards hosting the next edition of Africa’s premier international football tournament.
Motsepe’s delegation will include several senior CAF officials, underlining the importance of the inspection as preparations progress across the three host nations.
CAF second vice-president Kurt Okraku, fifth vice president Feizal Sidat, CECAFA president Paulos Weldehaimanot and acting CAF secretary general Samson Adamu are expected to accompany the CAF president.

The delegation’s programme in Tanzania will provide an opportunity to assess the state of preparations while engaging government and football authorities on the requirements for staging the tournament.
The visit also comes as CAF continues to work with the three host countries on infrastructure, facilities and other organisational requirements ahead of the 2027 finals.
The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium remains an important part of the country’s preparations, with the venue having previously hosted major international and continental football matches.
Motsepe’s discussions with Karia and Prime Minister Nchemba are expected to further strengthen coordination between CAF, the national football federation and the Tanzanian government as the country prepares for its role in the tournament.
