Oshoala bag goals in season’s last dance for Al Hilal

Asisat Oshoala delivered a standout performance with two goals and an assist as Al Hilal Women ended their Saudi Women’s Premier League campaign with a dominant 5-0 victory over Eastern Flames.

The Nigerian forward, a six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, capped off an impressive season by taking her tally to 12 goals and four assists in 13 league appearances, helping her side snap a three game winless run in emphatic fashion.

After a goalless first half, Al Hilal came alive in the second period with a ruthless attacking display.

Oshoala opened the scoring just two minutes after the restart, setting the tone for a commanding performance. The hosts quickly extended their lead, scoring twice within five minutes to make it 3-0 by the hour mark.

The forward then turned provider in the 73rd minute, setting up Kheira Hamraoui for Al Hilal’s fourth goal.

Oshoala completed her brace seven minutes later, finishing clinically to seal a comprehensive 5-0 victory.

The result sees Al Hilal finish fifth on the table with 23 points from 14 matches, while Eastern Flames end the season bottom with just three points.

Attention now shifts to the SAFF Women’s Cup, where Al Hilal will face Al Qadsiah Women in the semi-finals.

The first leg is scheduled for April 30, with the return fixture set for May 7, as Al Hilal look to close out the season with silverware.
