Samuel Chukwueze rejects Trabzonspor €15m offer backs himself to succeed at Milan

Samuel Chukwueze has reportedly rejected a €15 million move to Trabzonspor, choosing instead to remain at AC Milan and fight for his place under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

Samuel Chukwueze has reportedly rejected a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, opting instead to remain at AC Milan as he waits to discover his role under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Nigeria international had emerged as one of Trabzonspor’s priority targets this summer, with the Turkish club prepared to pay around €15 million for the winger following the end of his loan spell at Fulham.

However, Chukwueze has decided against the switch, preferring another opportunity to establish himself at the San Siro rather than leave Serie A, according to reports from Nigerian journalist Babatunde Ojora.

The 27-year-old returned to Milan after Fulham chose not to activate the option to make his stay in west London permanent.

During his loan spell, Chukwueze made 25 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League club, contributing three goals and four assists as Fulham secured another comfortable top-flight campaign.

Despite those performances, Fulham ultimately walked away from a permanent deal. Reports suggest the club attempted to negotiate a lower transfer fee with Milan, but the Rossoneri were unwilling to reduce their valuation of the Nigerian.

The departure of Fulham manager Marco Silva, who reportedly played a key role in bringing Chukwueze to Craven Cottage, is also understood to have reduced the likelihood of the move becoming permanent.

That opened the door for Trabzonspor, who quickly entered the race with a bid believed to be worth around €15 million.

But Chukwueze has instead chosen continuity over a fresh start, believing he can still earn a place in Milan’s plans under Amorim.

The winger remains under contract with the Italian giants until 2028, although Milan are reportedly open to considering offers should a suitable proposal arrive later in the transfer window.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023 after establishing himself as one of La Liga’s most exciting attacking players.
