Shooting Stars Sports Club have been fined ₦5million and their home stadium, Lekan Salami Stadium, will be closed for the remainder of the season.
This decision comes after a disciplinary committee found the club guilty of three counts:-
Failure to Provide Adequate Security: The club was fined N1 million for allowing unauthorised persons to access restricted areas and harass match officials during their match against Ikorodu City.

Ensure Proper Conduct of Supporters: Another N1 million fine was imposed for the assault on Ikorodu City supporters by Shooting Stars fans, breaching Rule C9 of the NPFL Framework and Rules.

Throwing Objects onto the Field: A third fine of N1 million was levied for breach of Rule B13.18, as fans threw objects toward the field of play and match officials.
Also, Shooting Stars will pay N2 million in damages to Ikorodu City for harm to their bus.
The club has 48 hours to accept or appeal the decision, as per Rule C26 of the NPFL regulations.
This ruling aims to maintain discipline and safety within Nigerian football stadiums.

The incident occurred during the Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 32 fixture between Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City at the Lekan Salami Stadium, leading to a disciplinary panel sitting on Wednesday.
The NPFL’s decision has sparked intense reactions across the Nigerian football community, raising concerns about fan violence, stadium security, and club accountability.
