Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare scored a late equaliser as Wolverhampton Wanderers came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Brentford in the Premier League on Monday.
The hosts looked set for victory after establishing a two-goal lead in the first half, but Wolves responded through Adam Armstrong and Arokodare to secure a point in London. The result extends Wolves’ unbeaten run to three league matches.
Brentford took the lead in the 22nd minute when Michael Kayode headed home from a cross by Keane Lewis-Potter.
The advantage was doubled in the 37th minute as Igor Thiago finished from close range to register his 19th league goal of the season.
Wolves reduced the deficit just before the break. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde drove forward before setting up Armstrong, who finished calmly past Caoimhin Kelleher in the 44th minute.
With Wolves pushing after the interval, manager Rob Edwards introduced Arokodare in the 74th minute, replacing Bellegarde.
The substitution proved decisive as the Nigerian striker headed home from a cross by João Gomes to make it 2-2. Arokodare nearly completed the turnaround moments later, but his header struck the crossbar.
Brentford pressed for a late winner but were unable to find a breakthrough, missing the chance to close the gap on Chelsea in the race for European places. They remain seventh on 45 points.
