The Premier League club secured the forward’s services in a deal worth an initial €28 million, with a further €2 million in performance related add-ons. The agreement established a new transfer record for Swedish football, surpassing the fee received when Lucas Bergvall left Djurgarden for Tottenham in 2024.

After leaving Ikon Allah Football Academy in Kaduna for AIK, the attacker wasted little time making an impression in Sweden. His combination of pace, direct running and attacking instinct helped him break into the senior side, where he contributed five goals and four assists in 18 appearances across the Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen.

Those performances quickly attracted attention from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with Chelsea and Newcastle among the sides linked with the highly rated youngster.
