Paul Pogba has broken his silence after bringing his brief Monaco spell to an early end, thanking the club and its supporters while acknowledging that his playing time was limited.
Monaco and Pogba mutually agreed to terminate his contract on Wednesday, August 19, one year before its scheduled expiry, ending a comeback that never reached the heights the former France international had hoped for.
In his farewell message, Pogba expressed his gratitude to Monaco’s president, management, staff and teammates, describing it as a pleasure to wear the club’s red and white colors.
The 33-year-old’s time on the pitch, however, was severely restricted. Pogba made just six appearances in all competitions, starting only once and playing a total of 115 minutes.

Pogba arrived at Monaco last summer as a free agent after serving an 18-month doping ban that had initially threatened to derail his career.
The midfielder had not played competitive football for an extended period before joining Monaco and was still working towards full fitness when he arrived.
The move was supposed to provide an opportunity to rebuild his career and regain regular football Instead, injuries repeatedly disrupted his progress.
His latest setback came during Monaco’s pre-season preparations, further complicating his prospects of making a meaningful contribution to the club.

Pogba’s Monaco chapter has now closed with considerably fewer appearances than he would have wanted.
For a player once regarded as one of the finest midfielders of his generation, the challenge now is to determine whether another club will offer him the opportunity to continue his comeback.
