Norwegian side Molde have confirmed that Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has been acquitted of all charges in a sexual assault case, paving the way for the Flying Eagles star to resume his football career after months of uncertainty.
The verdict comes after the 19-year-old successfully appealed an earlier ruling that had found him guilty and ordered him to pay legal costs.
In an official statement, Molde announced that the Frostating Court of Appeal had unanimously cleared the former Flying Eagles midfielder of all allegations.
“Daniel Daga has been unanimously acquitted in the criminal case heard by the Frostating Court of Appeal. Based on the verdict, Molde FK considers that Daga will once again be available for play, even though the verdict is not yet final,” the club said.

Molde have confirmed Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has been acquitted by Norway’s Court of Appeal, clearing the Flying Eagles star to return to action after months away from football.
Daga joined Molde from Nigerian club Sporting Lagos in January 2025 and quickly established himself as an important member of the first-team squad. The defensive midfielder made 17 appearances for the Norwegian outfit and was widely regarded as one of the club’s emerging prospects.
His progress was halted after allegations of sexual assault surfaced, leading Molde to suspend him from all football-related activities while the legal process ran its course.
Although Daga consistently maintained his innocence, a district court in Romsdal initially found him guilty earlier this year and ordered him to pay NOK10,000 in legal costs.

The teenager challenged the decision at the Court of Appeal, which has now overturned the earlier verdict, clearing him of all charges.
While the judgment is not yet legally final, Molde have confirmed that Daga will once again be available for selection, opening the door for his return to competitive football.
